I am an endurance athlete, a global traveler, and a lifelong learner.

I value authenticity, freedom, courage, and truth.

What do you value?

Through the coaching process your own values, purpose, direction, and desired impact will be clarified.

My role, as a coach, is to evoke transformation in people: a profound, elemental shift. People are yearning to grow and develop into the greatest possible expression of themselves. This change is evoked through awareness, discovery, learning, growth, and forward action in our coaching relationship.

Before becoming an executive coach, I spent 25 years developing and leading high-performing sales, product innovation, and strategy teams. I have held successive executive positions at global education companies with a record of accomplishments as Vice President of Sales, Partner Relationship Management, Enterprise Sales, Editor in Chief, and Executive Manager of training programs.

My own experience working with executive coaches over the years accelerated my career and made me a more confident leader. This motivated me to be accredited by The Co-Active Training Institute as a Co-Active Coach. I have additional coach certification from the Adler School of Professional Coaching. Currently, I am enrolled in CRR Global’s Advanced Training (ORSC) to support clients build high-performance, sustainable, and resilient teams.

I am also a member of the Coaches Rising Community, deepening my knowledge about the power of somatic coaching.  Before coaching, I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Information Management from Thames Valley University, London, United Kingdom.

Testimonials

A year into my first manager job, I was still feeling unsure if the role was right for me and turned to Michelle for her insightful guidance.

Michelle is a great listener and incredibly astute. She is non-judgemental and completely present during our sessions. Michelle has an uncanny ability to sort through the jumble to get to the core of what I’m saying and feeling. She also picks up on what I’m not saying, which can be just as important. Michelle is kind and understanding, while also not letting me get away with avoiding uncomfortable truths or inconsistencies. Most incredible is how Michelle leads me to self-discovery and empowers me to find solutions. I’ve gained a greater understanding of what I truly value and how honouring those values leads to greater peace and satisfaction in my life. Because these insights come from myself, they really ring true.

I highly recommend coaching with Michelle for anyone who is feeling lost or stuck. Michelle genuinely cares about people and is dedicated to helping them achieve their full potential. She is patient, open, compassionate – an amazing human being.

So many of us get to a point in life when we begin to question our purpose, values, or whether we’re living our most fulfilling life. I thought I had life figured out, but until I worked with Michelle, I hadn’t realized that I had lost touch with who I am as a person.

I didn’t know what to expect when we began on my journey, and the process Michelle took me through caught me by surprise, and made me feel intriguingly different, better and definitely more alive than I expected.

Michelle is a gifted and very skilled coach who I would recommend to anyone interested in self-discovery and personal growth.

I am extremely fortunate to have Michelle Sartor as my coach. I worked with Michelle a couple of years into retirement. I was piecing my life together and working towards leaving behind negative energy and emotional baggage from my past behind.

Michelle’s coaching guided me. My retirement life was like putting together a big jigsaw puzzle with many tiny pieces. While I have pieced together parts of the jigsaw, I have yet to complete the whole puzzle. Michelle helped me complete the whole jigsaw puzzle. Another metaphoric description would be I have a beautiful picture, Michelle helped me put the perfect lighting and position for the picture to best captivate the beauty. She also guided me on the care of my picture so over time, I can maintain the picture’s quality and beauty. Michelle guided me to achieve my goals and set me on the right path to enjoy my retirement.

Her professional commitment and guidance as my coach was very inspiring and encouraging. I looked forward to every session. After each session, I felt more confident and was able to identify areas I needed to work on. She left me with a set of tools to use as I continue my life’s journey. I was lucky and fortunate to have Michelle as my coach. She was and will always be the perfect coach for me.

FAQ

Coaching can help you bridge the gap between your desires and the action needed to achieve your goals. You will know you’re ready for coaching when you feel driven to take action. You might feel stuck with a brilliant idea that you can’t figure out how to implement. Or you may feel overwhelmed and burnt out by your workload. Or you might want to make a big move in your career or life, but you need someone to keep you accountable to make this change. It’s time to seek coaching.

Before you begin the process of hiring a coach, you should reflect on your objectives for the coaching engagement. Being clear on your goals during the hiring process enables you to find the coach best suited to help you reach them. By investing in coaching, you are investing in yourself. And the positive impact will ripple out to your team and other individuals in your life. Before we examine the time and financial investments of coaching, consider the following questions:

  • What do I want to get from a coaching engagement? Determining this can help you decide whether coaching is a worthwhile investment for you.
  • Is there a cost to you in not focusing in and achieving your goals? Are your goals expendable to you? What will that cost you in your career and/or your life?
  • What is your readiness to commit to making real change? Consider the time and energy you would be willing to put towards realizing your goals.

By getting clear on what you want, you will have a better idea on what you’re willing to invest.

As you consider how you might benefit by working with a coach and what you’d like to focus on during the engagement, think about the following:

  • What are your goals for the next six to 24 months of your life? These goals could be professional or personal.
  • Is there a lifelong dream you’d like to pursue?
  • Do you feel stuck in any aspect of your professional or personal life?
  • Are you transitioning to a new stage in life — professionally or personally?

A coach will help you discover, clarify and align with what you want to achieve. This is accomplished by co-creating a safe, non-judgmental space where the coach encourages you to examine your goals while they listen and remain curious about what you are saying.

During your time together, the coach may use powerful questions and tools, including personality assessments, to help you explore different possibilities that you can then use to create your own solutions and strategies.

A coach may also give you “homework,” like journaling, between sessions to help you keep the momentum of your discovery and progress. You can expect your coach to keep you accountable for your goals.

The coaching conversation offers a unique way to listen, explore, raise awareness, make choices—take risks—and continually build on what was learned to inform the next choice, the next step, and the next learning opportunity.

Leadership development is the top reason why organizations leverage coaching. A growing number of organizations recognize the value that coaching offers — both for employees and the organizations.

For example, organizations with strong coaching cultures have better retention of high performers, higher employee engagement survey scores, and better senior leadership bench strength. Average coaching fees are really dependent upon what type of coaching is being sought and who is paying for coaching. You may pay for coaching yourself, but increasingly, organizations are investing in coaching for their executives and senior leaders — and whatever you discuss with your coach remains confidential.
The length of your sessions and engagement is really up to you. On average, a coaching engagement typically lasts four to six months, and each coaching session is one to two hours long, according to data from the 2020 ICF Global Coaching Study (GCS).

In addition to the sessions with your coach, you should also plan to spend some time between sessions completing homework, reflecting on past sessions and preparing for upcoming sessions.

I will help develop a schedule that will work best for you, taking into account what your goals are, your ability to implement new skills, and the time you can dedicate to the coaching process. This is something you can discuss and agree upon during the initial contracting phase of your engagement.
